Feeding the Homeless

On December 8 some of my co-workers and I spent the day at SMEDA in Santa Ana. We prepared plates and served both breakfast and lunch to the homeless. Rockwell Automation had some leftover food from an event and we were able to donate it for lunch that day. When we weren't serving lunch, we helped sort donated food and clothing so that it can be given away later. We also helped move boxes and clean up the center. It was a humbling experience.

Memory Walk 2008

Today Paisley and I did a walk in memory of my mother, Geraldine Schuman who passed away in September. She had end stage Dementia. It was the Memory Walk at Cal State Fullerton for Alzheimer's Association. There was a such a nice crowd of people and so many informative booths. I went with some friends who lost their mother / grandmother last month. Her name was Geraldine also! It was a lovely day to remember our loved ones. They had purple candles lit and it was calming to sit among them in the shade.

Wiggle Waggle Walk

Paisley and I ventured off to the 10th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk for the Pasadena Humane Society. Guide Dogs of America had a nice representative team! What a beautiful day it was to do a 5k around the Rose Bowl!

Light the Night

The charity walks have begun. Tonight I did Light the Night for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It is a 5k evening walk around and into Angel Stadium. This year they allowed us to walk around the field area which was fun - especially seeing the dug outs.

Paisley - Retired Guide Dog Breeder

Today was Paisley's official first day retired from the breeders program for Guide Dogs of America. She gave them three beautiful litters and now she starts her new career. She is already a certified Delta Society Pet Partner so she can and has done therapy work. We have plans to join a beginning agility class because she is so athletic and has a high desire for dog sports. The breeding department gave her a little going away "Aloha Lei" and it was dog biscuits and silk hibiscus flowers.

Yahoo, Pool Time

Yippee, I got to play in the pool today at Landon's house! Virtue and Velvet were there too! It was a hot day today so a great swim was so fun.

Starbucks Anyone?

Today when our mom went to get her morning Starbucks ... half bold / half decaf grande coffee ... we made ourselves at home in the driver's and passenger seats of our totally cool 2008 Ford Escape XLT SUV.
