Plymouth Rock N Run, 5k walk for Reeve - Irvine Spinal Cord Injury Research Center. There was a great turn out and the weather was beautiful. Dodger and Paisley both walked with me behind the crowd down La Palma then around the perimeter of Yorba Regional Park.
I have been sleeping for hours because I had so much fun today at the OC Pet Expo. We did splashdogs! Mom threw my football and I ran and jumped off the dock into a big pool. I was so excited I was screaming at the top of my lungs every time another dog jumped. We didn't really know what we were doing but we had fun! One time I even jumped off before mom threw my football. My longest jump was 8' 4" which isn't "competitive", but, we didn't care. We were there to have fun.
Guide Dogs of America had a group whale watch in Dana Point. It was wonderful. We stayed in a nice hotel on the harbor and all gathered to board the boats on Sunday morning. I am guessing we had about 60 people and about 30 dogs on the two boats. Pat and Chuck let me kidnap "Kip" for the evening. Such a sweet boy!
Took a trip to San Francisco. The first and only stop was Alcatraz on Friday afternoon. It was a cloudy, wet day and that just seemed appropriate. Wow, what a place! They do a really nice job with the audio tour. Saturday morning we went to Golden Gate Park and visited the Conservatory of Flowers and the Japanese Tea Garden. Both are beautiful places. On the way back we went to Giradelli Square and bought the chocolate we had to bring home. We had lunch at Buena Vista which is an Irish Pub. I had a nice warm and wonderful Irish Coffee while we witnessed a "right to life" march go by. That afternoon and evening we walked through The Cannery, Pier 39 and Fisherman's Warf. We drove through Chinatown which was enough as they were celebrating the Chinese New Year and it was wall to wall people. Sunday morning we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and over to Saulsalito to shop around a bit. Thank goodness we finally found a dog store there. After that we had lunch at the Boudin Bakery and got ourselves some sourdough bread to bring home. It was a short but fun filled weekend.
